Arrived mid afternoon. Had to laugh when we saw that these rooms are even tinier than we had in London. They're well laid out though so we're comfortable enough and the hotel is in an excellent location, just a short block off of Placa de Catalunya - a large plaza in the center of the city. The staff here, too, seem much friendlier than the London hotel staff...
Headed up to the roof first thing to the Terrace bar and a bit of a view of the city.
Walked down La Rambla. It's a mile-long road with a very wide pedestrian area running down the center of it with narrow lanes on either side for traffic. This being a Saturday and with the weather being perfect, there were tons of people out strolling, shopping, sitting and talking or people watching or eating or drinking...
View down a side street. We continue to be amazed at the number of tourists, everywhere we go.
Stopped for tapas and drinks at an outside cafe (SITTING while you eat plus OUTSIDE automatically means more $$$). Worth it, though, just for the experience.... Food was good and the people watching was very entertaining. Angle of this pic has the worst view of our location but it was the only one where everyone was smiling...
